What Cookies Do We Use And Why?
PHPSESSID
This is a session cookie generated by PHP, a technology we use to code our websites.
This cookie is necessary to enable the pass through of referral website information and ensures the accurate payment of our partner websites. In terms of this referral information this is stored against a user's customer record within our quote database at the point where the user ticks to confirm that they have read our Privacy and Security Policy.
JSESSIONID
This cookie is necessary to enable the functionality of our website applications (debt payment application, quote engine and customer portal. The customer portal is an external application provided by a third party but it shares the same JsessionID cookie used on our internal applications). This cookie is used to maintain a user's session and to allow data to be passed between different online web pages within the quote engine. This cookie exists only for the duration of the user's session. Users must have the session ID cookie enabled if they wish to get a quote from us online.
POLICYP
This cookie is necessary to ensure the functionality of our customer online documents area within the website. Its functionality mirrors that of a session ID and as such, this cookie exists only for the duration of the user's session. Users must have the PolicyP cookie enabled if they wish to access their customer documents with us online.
GOOGLE ANALYTICS

These are persistent cookies and as such last longer than the user's session. These cookies are performance cookies and are used as part of our web analytics activity to monitor traffic and compile reporting about how users are using our websites. The cookies are used to capture anonymous data about a user's journey around our website and the information is aggregated in order to allow us to analyse trends and to make improvements to our website. SESSION ID
This is a session cookie generated by Django, a framework we use to run the Learner Driver website, which is provided by a third party.
This cookie is necessary to enable site users to move between pages, including quote pages, and allows the system to identify information previously entered by the user on our website. This is required in order for us to collect all necessary information and to display a final quote.
CRSF TOKEN
This is a Cross-Site Request Forgery cookie. This cookie is used to ensure all transactions are secure. This cookie stores a random value, which is generated for every visitor for every page, to ensure the response (if required, for example, when completing a quote form) comes from the same person and they have received the original form prior to sending it back to us. This is provided by a third party.
BRAND
This cookie is necessary to ensure the functionality of our website applications, including our customer portal. This is used solely to store the name of the brand so that the quoting engine can brand itself accordingly.
HEAP ANALYTICS(H)
Heap is a user behavioural analytics product and service. We use Heap to collect and analyze data about how our users are interacting with our services. Heap collects data on what users are doing, including but not limited to what webpages they visit, what users click on, where those users are located, what browser or platform those users are using, and many other forms of behavioural data.
